Phantom Marine was founded in the late nineteen eighties by Ed Hanscom, Sr. Ed’s background in boating dates back to working on fishing boats on the East Coast as a youth. Later in life he owned/ran charter fishing vessels, before delving into marine electronics. A little known fact his last charter vessel named the “Phantom” is the reason behind the company’s name today. “It saved me from having to order new checks when I went into the electronic business”, he often stated.
Starting in a garage in San Clemente, Phantom Marine now has two fully equipped showrooms in Southern California. Now, 15+ years later, the company has a full-time staff with over a hundred years of combined service in the marine electronics industry.
Phantom Marine was founded on service. Not only do we install and repair all of our equipment, but also have the knowledge to provide the right type of gear depending on our clients’ varying needs. After installation, we provide hands-on training so that the user can get the most out of their investment. It is exactly this service (before, during, and after the sale) that has built the company into the largest servicing marine electronics in California.
Phantom Marine is a Factory-Authorized dealer for all of the merchandise we carry. Our clientele rests assured knowing the manufacturer’s warranty is valid on their investment. Our factory trained installation staff is available to provide all levels of assistance, from a complete on-the-water installation to simple Q&A assistance via telephone.
